NIKEL PTFE - Scheda Tecnica

 

It is the most recent development in the field of codepositions with electroless nickel. Ni-PTFE gathers the typical characteristics of electrolessnickel as superficial hardness, wear and corrosion resistance, and of PTFE that is to say low friction coefficient and autolubrificant power. PTFE particles must be inferior to 1 micron and are englobed into the matrix of nickel at a percentage of 20%.

WORK PROCESS
The basis bath is always electroless nickel to which it is added PTFE in dispersion. Unlike the Silican bath, it is sufficient a little shaking to mantain in suspension the PTFE particles which deposit uniformly on all the surfaces of the pieces in the bath.

Ni-PTFE TREATMENT PROPERTIES
This treatment has got some of the characteristics typical of electroless nickel, but it differs for superficial hardness and wear resistance. e del nikelchimico, ma se ne differenzia per quanto riguarda la durezza superficiale e la resistenza all'usura.

SUPERFICIAL HARDNESS
Although the matrix englobing the particles of PTFE has got a hardness of 500-550 HV, the overall codeposit has 250 HV. After heat treatment it reaches 400 HV.

WEAR RESISTANCE
Ni-PTFE codeposition causes a remarkable reduction of the coefficient of friction from 0,6-0,7 of not recooked electroless nickel to 0,1-0,2. This value is the result of the intrinsic properties of PTFE and of PTFE particles depositing on the sample surface and there working. The movement is no more between a surface of Ni-PTFE and one for example of steel, but between two surfaces Ni-.PTFE and PTFE with a further reduced coefficient of friction.
